Russia has presented an Orthodox church in Havana with the Icon of St.Alexander Nevsky.

The church is the first and only Orthodox one in Cuba and countries of the Caribbean and the icon was created by masters of the Trinity Sergius Lavra Monastery.

Built in the style of Old Russian architecture in the historical center of Havana, the church has a tent-shaped belfry and its snow-white building is crowned with five domes.

The Cuban Orthodox community consists of more than 2,000 members.
